Parent Bulletin 11th Sept 2026

Welcome back!

I hope you have enjoyed a relaxing summer break, especially with the wonderful weather we had.

It has been wonderful to see our students return this week with such positivity, enthusiasm and readiness to learn. We have talked to them all in assemblies about professional expectations at Key Stage 4, as they prepare for the world of work, and doing the right thing at Key Stage 3, making sure they are on time, considerate, polite, and work hard. Please do continue to support your child to do and be their very best, checking that they have completed homework, asking about what they have learned, checking their uniform, and ensuring they are in school on time each day. We know that by having those consistent messages at home and at school, we give children the very best chance to succeed academically and pastorally.

A special welcome goes to our new Year 7 students and their families. They have made a truly excellent start and are already becoming valued members of our school community. Thank you also to our new members of staff who have joined our team so successfully this year.

Following a summer of fantastic GCSE results, we are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to supporting every student to achieve their very best. This newsletter will keep you updated on school news, celebrations, events and important information throughout the year. I hope you like the new blog style which should hopefully make it easier to check in with all our news.

‍Open Events 2026

If you have a child due to start secondary school in September 2027, we’d love to see you at one of our Open Events later this month.

All prospective families are welcome to the Open Evening, and Open Morning tours will need to be booked by contacting the school office via email or phone.

Please share with any other parents/carers that may be interested.

** Please note: School will finish at 1.30pm on Wednesday 23rd September to allow us time to prepare for the Open Evening

School Photographs

DSP photography will be joining us next Thursday 17th September to take individual school photos of our Year 7, 9 and 11 students

Please ensure children are in correct uniform that day.

Year 11 Information Evening

Year 11 students and their parents/carers are invited to join us on Wednesday 16th September, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, for an informative evening focused on the exciting year ahead.

Our updated canteen menus

Audition dates!

The Performing Arts Department would like to invite students from all years (Year 11 included) to audition for this year's production 'Checkmate'

Audition dates: Tuesday 15th September – 3:30 – 5:30pm
This play (not Musical) is open to Actors, Dancers, and Musicians from all year groups.
Roles: 11 Main characters, chorus (on stage all the time) and a live band.
Second audition for Main Characters on Thursday 17th September until 5:30pm.
Performance Dates: 2nd, 3rd, 4th March 2027.
